A: There are three ways to change Product Lines for inventory items:
1. If only a few inventory items require a change, locate the item(s) at the inventory master screen and simply make the changes for each item.
2. A new Mass Change option has been added at the Product Line Master screen as an F10 option. This option will change either an entire product line or group from one to another name throughout the entire DataModes system.
Open the Product Line and/or Group that requires a name change. Select the F10 option for Product Line/Group Name Change.
You may choose to Consolidate Two Product Lines and/or Groups or simply change the name to another name. The From product line and group will default from the record selected prior to opening the change option. The EXPAND key may be used at the To field to find the new product line name and group. New Product Lines and Groups MUST HAVE BEEN SET UP AND SAVED at the product line master screen prior to using this change function.
3. If a group of items need to be changed, the change may be accomplished by using wild cards (i.e. * and ?) at the Inventory Utility option, Change Product Line.
When a wild card has been used to select a group of items, the program will display all items within the selected range. The message ESC Exit & Confirm Product Change will appear at the bottom of the screen and the operator then will use the ESC key to continue. The popup screen will ask if the operator wishes to Change Product Line, Yes/No. If "Y" (Yes) is selected, all items on the list will change to the new product line and group. If "N" (No) is selected, the operator will be returned to the original screen continue.
